Sergio has assisted large international construction projects in the management and resolution of their claims and disputes. He is an international arbitrator and provides dispute resolution expert advice from his multidisciplinary expertise, experience and background.

Expertise

Sergio has assisted in the preparation of the contractual and legal entitlements, delay analysis and quantum of damages of multi-million dollar claims for some of the most complex construction projects worldwide. He has provided expert advice in the resolution of claims and disputes related to wide range of issues covering delay and disruption, change orders, scope of works, additional works, insurances, professional liability, breach of contractual obligations, unforeseen conditions, … under FIDIC, PPP, EPC and Ad Hoc contracts.


Experience

Sergio has more than 10 years’ experience working in the construction industry and he has been actively involved in the management and delivery of construction projects, what gives him a profound understanding of the construction industry, project delivery and project management procedures. This first hand experience enables Sergio to provide efficient solutions to complex construction disputes.

Background

Sergio has studied Civil Engineering (MSc) in the Polytechnical University of Madrid with and Erasmus Scholarship in the University of Florence. He also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Construction Law and Arbitration in Robert Gordon University (Scotland). He is Chartered Civil Engineer in Spain and he is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is fluent in Spanish (mother language), English, French and Italian.
